I have an old 07 model of volkey wedge(not spin milled} and was wondering could anyone compare the performance with the newer model. Thinking of an upgade as the old ones are looking fairly shabby. Got an oil can finish that has worn away in parts of the club.

I have found there is a great difference in spin between the spin milled and the normal vokeys. If you want to keep the spin use soft golf balls only with your wedge as harder ones do wear them out.

I had the oil cans also and upgraded to the newer ones earlier this year. Opted for the black nickel finish this time and they are beautiful clubs. The difference is in my head mainly as it helps justify buying 3 new wedges when the others were still in good nick...

But yes, there is an improvement...

    What???
In the words of John McEnroe "You can not be serious!"
Hard balls wear out the wedges

Anyone have an old 50 degree one that they want rid of?

Mainly use second chance balls during winter months and pro v1s during the summer. Find it hard to believe that the winter balls are doing damage to my clubs.:o

That is a bargain. It's not the 2009 model but doubt there would be much difference other than the price.

I'm looking at the 60deg also. Does anyone have any feedback on the Vokey 60deg?

I have the wedge, received it within 3 days .2 day courier service via DPD.
Its 100% genuine, came nicely boxed in a Titleist box .
Titleist seem to be selling off the 2008 model to make way for the 2009 model,a good few websites have them for sale but mostly at £50 instead of £40.
I'm tempted to get another one.

Main difference between 2008 and 2009 is that there are more bounce and grind options in the 2009 range. If your going for the middle bounce get the 2008 version and save a few euro.

Also from speaking to a few people and holding the clubs in my hand there is very little difference between the lower loft spin milled and the lower loft 200range. I.e. the 50 & 52 degree clubs are pretty much the same bar the back design. Not seen the 48degree one but would assume the same is true.

    Regards
    Ian

That is a heck of a bargain MA... I got two of the same wedges you got (52* and 60*) for €129 delivered to the door and I figured that was a deal not to be beaten... I stand corrected! Great find...

Oh, and I'm very happy with the wedges as well. I really liked my old 60* (it was a fairly standard club, Jack Nicklaus, and cost €45 in American Golf about three years ago) but had heard so much about the Vokeys and wanted to get a new GW anyway so just got both.

I actually find them a lot more forgiving than my old wedges, which is probably an unusual thing to say about a wedge!

Took advantage of the offer from the golf warehouse last week as well and tried out the spin milled 08 today. Top class wedges and way nicer feel and seem more solid than my old 07 volkey.Even chipped in for birdie first shot with the 54. Purchase 60 and 54 degrees and well pleased with them. Nice spot Mister Anarchy

I ordered the 60* from that crowd too - thanks again MA. A real bargain especially with current exchange rate(€55 inc. shipping). Was in McGuirks on saturday and they have reduced their price to €89 for the same club.
