There is course entitled Exercise Physiology and Fitness Evaluation starting in Trinity College on Tuesday the 24th of March. It continues for 10 weeks at 3 hours a session (15 hours of lectures and 15 hours of hands on gym/fieldwork in total).

    The cost is 200 euro.

The phone number of the Physiology Department where you can ask them to send you an application form is 01 896 2723.

Maybe post back here if you are applying for it as we will have a better idea of whether it will run this year or not. It didn't run last year as there was not enough applications. There is a maximum of 20 places and a minimum of 10 places.

Is there a cert or anything for passing this?? Could you get work from it?

I'm sure they'll take your 200 euro if you're interested in the subject matter. I'm sure there's lots about slow twitch and fast twitch muscles, V02 max etc.

    Youth! It's wasted on you!

There may be a cert but I don't think it would fit in the National Framework of Qualifications (leaving cert = L4/L5, Higher Cert = L6, Ordinary Bachelors Degree = L7, Higher Bachelors Degree = L8 etc.).

On it's own I doubt you would get a job but (it's only 30 hours of a course) but it would be a pretty good advantage over somebody else who had the same other qualifications as you.
