Good episode overall. Claire's section was sliiiiiiiightly less annoying on the whole.
Her visitor at the end was cool, especially given his motivation.

Peter was, as usual these days, ****in ace.
The whole thing with him and Parkman controlling minds was done very cheesily but Peter himself was awesome, absorbing the right powers at the right time n'all.

Sylar's story was surprisingly boring and slow-moving.
The revelation about his father's power, especially given the use it was put to, was quite awesome
and his line "That's a little on the nose..." was entertaining. Nice to see him parody himself.
The Hunter's scene with Matt at the end was cool. Nice to see how far he'll go.

Can someone else check this out and confirm for me please?
In the flashback scene where Samson Gray meets two people in the diner, I coulda sworn the woman was Candice Wilmer.... If not, she's a dead ringer.... Anyone else see this?

Well it was a improvment over the last few episodes.

    Il give it a 7.5.

Nice to see Dole alive he is genuinely creepy

I dont give a monkeys about Claires story line, shes only good when she is getting killed.
I also think rebel is without a shadow of a doubt Micha

Your right about the matt/peter scenes being a bit cheesy, but it was a good idea. They could of been done it better though. I think its the close ups that annoy me about it.
Im also convinced that Peter has Arthers ability but hasnt used it to full effect
I noticed that Knox's picture is on the capture board in the HQ. Wasnt he definatly killed?

Micah Sanders and Monica Dawson were listed to appear in this episode on IMDB... Obviously, they didn't but maybe they just got the episode wrong. Guess we'll be seeing them soon....

I really hope he starts using multiple abilities soon. The reason being, in a series where everyone has a super-power, someone needs to stand out. Someone needs to be more special than the rest and being that Sylar is the villain, he just doesn't cut it. I love that he has multiple powers but someone needs to stand opposite him and display a similar level of power....

I noticed that Knox's picture is on the capture board in the HQ. Wasnt he definatly killed?
1million per cent yeah. Tracy froze the hole off him in 3x13 "Dual".

i was convinced Dole was dead also

    Strange that,
i was convinced Dole was dead also

    I was too until
I rewatched "Dual" and saw that after Sylar walks away, Doyle is still lying conscious on the floor looking like he's just confused and in pain.

    We need a poll.

Liked the Parkman and Peter thing but could have been done better.

Clare's story sucks and I dont care. She is trying too hard as is her mother.
Wow she just remembered about a secret compartment and hid him there. I am so annoyed that there is gonna be another exploding man but how did Danko do it to parkman. I dont get it? Can they just make people do that and if so, why?

Stop using fukkin spoilers tags will ya's! If you're stupid enough to be in here then you deserve it to be spoiled.

I think its definitely Micah now behind this whole Rebel thing.

This was a good episode. I am convinced now that this show is better without Hiro. I didn't miss him at all and was happy that he didn't show up.

At the beginning, why the hell did they send only two agents after peter and matt? The first time they met, Matt managed to get a butt load of agents to shoot each other. Two wouldn't stand a chance against him.

Claire's mothers (who I've only just realised looks like the hooker from my name is earl) brilliant idea is to give him a fake id and a change of clothes. An 8 year old could think that one up. Why didn't they just flush him down the toilet? He can breath under water so he'll be fine.

This brings me to the stupidest moment of the episode, which goes to this wonderful scene:

Hooker from my name is earl: They have facial recognition software, you need to change your look.
Fish boy: I'll go upstairs and change my clothes straight away.
Hooker from my name is earl: That a boy! That should really confuse that facial recognition software. You sure your power isn't super intelligence?

Also, I distinctly remember that bastard kring promising us there would be no more of this teen love crap after season 2 went to shít. I hope he promises not to swallow a hand grenade next.

Peter stealing Matt's power was nice until both of them start tilting their heads at stupid angles every time they used it. I reckon if you want to stop Matt from using his power just hold his head straight.

Sylar bit was yawn-tastic. Glad to see he's finally ditched the kid. The Sylar story arc does look promising though. Hopefully he brutally kills daddy then goes back to his evil ways.

im going to watch heroes till it ends no question no matter how bad it gets

    1. There can be some great scences
    2. I do like the story and the concept as someone who thought x-men was too immature when i was a kid its all new to me and done allot better than the cartoon which just does not entertain me and i have made 3 popper attempts ( as in 10 episosdes or more in a row) with mates and i just dont like it

Also i love watching heroes because every time i come to a heroes thread on boards, every time i will always laugh atleast once, some of the negative comments have been very ****ing funny this season, one of the reason i watch it on tuesday is so i can read the topic otherwise id leave it will later in the week to watch

Yup, have to agree. Fysh's comments deserve a mention. They're usually spot on and quite funny. Although he said in the episode 17 thread he was done with it. Hope it isn't so.

Everything I liked about Heroes is dead.

No more Claire in a cheerleader outfit being brutally maimed.
No more HRG being mysterious and creepy at the same time.
No more Peter doing cool shít with his crazy load of super powers.
No more Hiro earning his "Yatta!" moments.
No more interesting new characters being added.
No more Sylar being the unquestioning badass who killed people out of simple greed.

The show has gone to hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!

I have tried staying optimistic about Heroes, but it really is woeful at this stage. I will probably watch until the end though or it get cancelled. I refuse to give up!

I hope 'Rebel' is Micah and I hope him and Monica come back, I liked both of them.

I'll probably watch it to the end as well but it's really becoming a chore now. Even Sylar's scenes were bad this week. I burst out laughing when he said "Mommy" when coming out of his flashback.

Is it so hard for the writers to come up with an interesting direction for the season to take? Both of this season's volumes involve a group trying to control people with powers. It's as if the writers are deliberately avoiding coming up with new ideas.

The show's just boring now even for a die hard like me that will keep watching, what's left this season 3 or maybe 4 episodes and still no build up to a ending, has the capturing of the people of special powers gone out the window and the show entering a new direction?

yeh that tilting head thing and the camera getting motion blur was ****ing cringe-tastic.

syler bit was long and boring with and the conclusion of it you could see a mile off.

heroes has lost it's touch big time, i dunno if i'll continue watch, i'll see how it goes.

An improvement but that's not saying much. Nice twist at the end with Parkman.

Cringed at the facial recognition part. Wetting your hair, changing your clothes and taking off your glasses won't get you very far

I think it is. Here's a screenshot from the diner scene the other night:

If that's not the same person, they look very alike....

Not a bad episode. Nice to see Sylar get rid of the muppet as he was really starting to piss me off. Personally I'd have liked if Sylar ripped his head open and took his power but I guess we cant have everything.

Seeing Parkman at the end strapped to a bomb was good but no doubt he'll be rescued by Peter ...or Rebel will somehow block the detonator
Micah Sanders and Monica Dawson were listed to appear in this episode on IMDB... Obviously, they didn't but maybe they just got the episode wrong. Guess we'll be seeing them soon....
Its funny but when we saw Rebels first message to Clare I was thinking it was
    Micah
but the subsequent episodes had me convinced I was wrong. It'll be interesting to see if it thats who it actually is now but its just not sitting right with me.

I'm actually hoping it's The Haitian.

Jesus this show is pants now. Is there anything actually worth watching out there atm?

Terminator is gone to poo, prison break was very poor after S1/2. 24 is just epicly fail and has been for a long time.

Entourage & Weeds are easy watching but they ain't on atm.

Dont get me started on Prision Break. It like Heroes went to complete **** also after session 1

It was an improvement on the recent dross. I'd give it about a 7 (if there was a poll). One thing I liked was the fact there was much less whingeing from Claire.

The stuff with Parkman actually made me laugh because he bugs the hell out of me. I was hoping the bomb on him would detonate.

One thing that really did irritate me was the jerky camera action. The scene with Pete and Parkman in the apartment was ridiculous. Who was the cameraman? Ozzy Osbourne?

As for 'rebel', did anyone else think like I did that it would be funny if it turned out to be the Cork chick that Peter had a brief thing with?

"Ah bejaysus Peter did you forget about me? I'm rebel, don't you know. Ya dirty langer!"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,115 ✭✭✭✭Nervous Wreck

Haha, that'd be some twist alright.

AlmightyCushion's review was priceless!! It's really quite a testament to how good the first season was that Im still watching it!! About the only thing I enjoyed were some of the brief Sylar scenes, kinda wish he had mauled the twerp and took his power though, it's ok Kring, he can kill and still be the anti-hero of the show!

Also, +cool points for using the The Chain by Fleetwood Mac.

I hope next week's episode starts with Monica back in her role as cleaning lady, sweeping Matt's brains off the steps of Congress.
