    Info from Citizens Information here:

    http://www.citizensinformation.ie/categories/travel-and-recreation/motoring-1/buying-or-selling-a-vehicle/how-to-dispose-of-an-end-of-life-vehicle

I think theres a fee (€70?) for the end-of-life certificate

Edit: I could be wrong on the fee:
You will not be charged if you deposit an intact end-of-life vehicle at an authorised treatment facility, provided you are the registered owner of that vehicle.

Might be worth putting it up on adverts.ie for free if you dont get it sold, someone will take it off you and you'll not have to pay scrapping fee

Is it really that bad? If not put it on http://www.adverts.ie/ & http://www.gumtree.ie/ and somebody might take it off your hands.

    What is it anyway?

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

I'm sure you don't "need" to scrap your car. Such a waste

Have you even attempted to sell it?

Let us no what it is. If it has tax and NCT it has to be worth something.

In my case, I doubt anybody will pay for:

    1991 Toyota Corolla 1.3 petrol, 180K miles.
    Failed NCT, needs
    Body/cills body work repairs
    new exhaust
    new tyres
And some other axle problems (sorry not technical enough to describe!!)

Other than that she's running fine, but burns alot of oil!!!.

If I dispose of it I can get 9 months back on the tax disc. (€230)

    Any takers?!!! :D
