    no fooling you boys!!

it's an '81 Derby (first registered Jan '82) and it started out like this:

the plan is to have somthing like this in time for the Limerick show at the end of May (but in yellow). It's a deadline but the world won't end if I don't make it ;)

That will be very nice TrevorBrady!
There have been so many Mk1 Golf gti restos over the years that it will be nice to see a Derby done..

yep, Polo with a boot. Speaking of Polos, I have one of them lined up too ;)

it's a '76 model imported from the UK in '79 when the owner moved over. The only other owner since was his brother. I have yet to collect it but I'm not holding out too much hope for it, the roof of the shed it's in has collapsed. Still, you'd never know, it might be worth restoring...

Whats your budget on something like this?

    The absolute bare minimum.

I'm talking from wreck to show winner :D:D:D  keeping it within a three figure sum and that'll include a full body restoration and full engine, windows and interior out respray in te stock colour. I reckon half of the budget will be spent on wheels and tyres to get "the look".

Since it's an '82 reg I'll have to NCT it before I can drive it too :( .
