She had a good run, rip.

Seriously though....is the ps3 starting up or is absolutely nothing at all happening? Is the red light coming on when you flick the switch on the back?

From the sounds of things it could be a problem with the SCART/HDMI.

    ^^This

Isnt there a way of resetting it to scart without having to view the screen? Could be handy if you had been using HDMI.

    How to reset resolution:

    1) Turn on the PS3 power switch

    2) Hold the power button until you hear one beep, and another about 2 seconds afterwards. Let go and the resolution will default to whatever is possible.

i dont think its a scart prob i run the console through a surround sound system, normally when i start up the console i can hear the playstation 'JINGLE' even if i dont have the tv set to the correct AV channel.I actually didnt change one thing from the last time i used the machine till the time it didnt work.I'm going to call sony in a few minutes and hopefully they can help.will post results later.hopefully will be back to kz2 this evening fingers crossed

Even so, it sounds more like a connection problem rather than the PS3 itself. Try getting a different scart lead and giving that a go.
