I received an ibrik and some greek/turkish coffee today as a gift and am
looking forward to playing around with it this eve after work.

Has anyone any experience brewing up a cuppa via what must be the
    oldest method of making coffee?

Afraid not. I know a guy that swears by it, he doesn't post here though and I wouldn't know how much faith to put in his opinions. I'm very interested what you think though.

RE*AC*TOR has brewed Turkish, I'm sure he'll have some tips.

I think at the time I made it I was still rolling with my Gaggia MDF. I think the stepped adjustment made it difficult to hone in on that almost touching but not quite point that you need for finer than fine Turkish grind.

The best guide I've found for it was here:
    http://www.home-barista.com/knockbox/how-to-prepare-turkish-coffee-t6429.html?hilit=turkish

The coffeegeek guide misses the all important foam / crema which in some spots is a socio-cultural faux-pas.

For the record I'm not a big fan of the Turkish coffee style. But when in Rome and all that. That Lebanese restaurant in town (off Wicklow St area) do it reasonably ok.
