    Hi.
Is it legal to drive a LHD car in Ireland?
A friend is thinking of bringing his Spanish LHD car home.
    thanks

Perfectly legal. But if they are bringing it back permanently some insurance companies may not quote for it and those that do will load it.

Does anyone know how much it costs to register a foreign car in Ireland and also Roughly how much extra is the Insurance likely to cost?

Thats like asking how long is a piece of string.

VRT is applicable but there may be an exemtion if you have been resident in the country of export for more than a year but dont quote me on that. I am sure there will be someone who knows better along soon to correct me on that.
