    Yeh I'm off it too.
Not doing too badly...Paddy's day will be the test.
If I break lent for Paddy's day I'll add a day on at the end instead.:D

Whats the big deal with alcohol and giving it up.

Unless you are addicted then it should be no problem. You will soon realise that its the company in the pubs rather than the drink itself.

If you drink at home on your own and none of the above applies to you then maybe you should take this to PI.

EDIT *tongue in cheek of course

Day 6? I haven't drank alcohol in near 3 weeks. Do I get a prize?

Is Paddies day a Holy Day? If so then arn't holy days exempt from lent? Just as Sundays are exempt because every Sunday is a Holy day.
You'll need clarification on this from someone who takes this religion stuff seriously rather then from me.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

I'm off it too but I intend on drinking on St. Paddy's day because if I recall my bible studies correctly Jesus went into the desert for forty days and forty nights without food or drink, but on St. Paddys Day he left the desert and got smashed!

I think Dara O'Briain said that originally...

I though Paddy's Day was the "bridge" point - acceptable for one day only? What does the Pope say?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I'm off the cigs 3 weeks now.
Bored off my head at work
I've estimated that each ciggie break was 10 mins..i used to ahve approx 10 cigs at least during work so that's 1hr40mins extra work I'm doing every day :(
Think I should ask the boss for a payrise as I'm basically working 8hrs extra a week...
what do you reckon my chances are?

He could deduct your wages for all those hours that you didn't work while you were smoking.

He's still a smoke so he'd have to deduct his hours then :)

If that is the case then, ask for the payrise, but he won't be entitled to a payrise until he stops smoking :)

Nope, Paddy's Day is the National Day of Excuses, basically.
