Garage Build Costs

Newbie to the forum so please forgive me for any posting shortcomings. Currently building a detached garage using direct labour (seems to be the cheaper option judging by quotes received by builders).

Garage will be within the allowable planning spec of 25m2. (6m X 4m approx) Got a quote for the raft foundation of 1K labour, material (concrete/re-inforcing will be extra).

The quote I received for digging out the foundation came to 2.6K which I thought was a bit excessive.

    Quote:
    Supply of machine.
Dig to 30" depth for raft area and supply and fill/level with hardcore.
Dig and fill for footpath along one side of garage.
    Supply of fill (hardcore)

Is the above quote excessive or am I out of touch with current building costs? I would consider other quotes but I'm new to the area and anyone I've phoned is too busy. Any help appreciated.
