I've my test on tuesday and my bonnet latch is kinda broken.. garage broke it a few months back.

Basically, you need to push over a part of the latch with a screwdriver before you close it down.. really easy to do.

Will I fail cause of this when he is asking me about the engine?

If I recall correctly, one of the things that the tester says to you is about the bonnet being shut correctly; so this would seem to suggest that it needs to be fully functioning, in the same way that they ask you to check that the doors are closed properly before you move off. Any chance you can get someone to mend it before the test? Perhaps someone more experienced would have a more definitive answer for you!

Once the bonnet is closed tight it should be ok, it doesn't really matter how you close it. There's also a chance that if it's wet on the day of the test you won't be asked to open the bonnet, instead the tester will ask you questions inside the car. Bear in mind these questions will not relate to anything under the bonnet, but will focus on your tyres, lights & handbrake

ok well kinda hope it rains now for 5 mins before test :P

if its dry, one of the lads in work had a good idea, pull up for test, open the bonnet, push over the latch and leave bonnet slightly open so it's ready to be closed after check.

if instructor asks why it's open, i'll jus say i was checking engine one last time before test..

    thoughts?

Don't think the tester will even ask, once the bonnet is secure before moving off there shouldn't be a problem.

cool cool.. i'd be so sick if the car was deemed unfit to drive.

anything else before test i should be aware off? is it better to wear work clothes etc.? that's what everyone is sayin to me

Wear what you feel comfortable in, it makes no difference to the tester. The main piece of advice I'll give you is make sure you know how to operate your heater controls. You'd be amazed at the number of people who fail their test for letting the windows fog up.
Make sure the fan is kept on, at least the 1st if not 2nd setting. If it gets too hot turn the heat down but don't turn the fan off. Also make sure that the air intake is on "fresh-air" not re-cycled, and keep you rear screen demister on if necessary.

If the garage broke it why wouldn't you get them to fix it?
