PC turns off without warning while only while watching streaming videos like YouTube

My Windows XP PC runs fine and stays on unless I watch clips on YouTube or similar sites. After a few minutes it just shuts down mid clip without a blue screen or anything. I have reinstalled the latest driver for the graphics card but its still happening. Any ideas would be very appreciated??

I had a weird problem with youtube a while ago... random blue-screens... turned out Flash Player 10 hated my software firewall... downloaded a new version of the firewall and all was well.
It's not really that helpful to you, but it might be an idea to include other background processes in your investigation.

dont know the technical terms, but have you checked your shut dowm/idle settings, ie, if you dont click on anything, or tap any of the keys, after a certain period computer will automaticlly shut down/hibernate or switch the display of to conserve power

thats first place i would go to, its somewhere in my 'my computer'

I would be looking at power supply or heat issues

thanks but why does it not heat up if I dont watch youtube type videos? If i just leave pc on it will stay on indefinitely.

Im in agreement with Donkeystyle, I reckon its a flashplayer 10 related issue. Update your flash player to version 10 and see if it sorts it out. As stated there me be a software conflict casuing the issue more than likely.

Could be the processing your graphics card is doing to display the video is causing it to overheat. Have you opened the case to check for dust clogged fans?
You could try running something to test graphics performance, if it shuts down then it would suggest any stress on your graphics card is causing it to keel over.
