Did anyone see this, I didn't but it sounded like a FF goon squad were looking to intimidate the RTE reporter (David Davin Power I think) from saying anything to critical.

I tried to check the RTE news page but no vids are loading at the moment.

ah no, they were just trying to get their faces on tv, and nodding vigerously when he said they party respected him.

It was hilarious. Looked a bit like this:

(David Davin Power is Kermit, by the way).

It's really pathetic stuff - do they figure it's some form of cheap and effective marketing for the local election?

It was one of the funniest things I've seen on TV this year, the state of the goons.

The only comparison one could make is the sideline reports at GAA matches, where every single spectator runs towards the camera for the post match interview, in the hope they can be seen on the Sunday Game later.

They don't grow up, they become FF election candidates :)

I laughed my head off when I saw that first shot.

If you emailed that link to someone in a foreign country they'd be shocked. I mean you wouldn't see it in China.

Whatever about how competent or incompetent Fianna Fail are as a political group, they really have an awful awful culture. That clip has mafia written all over it.

As a side thought, here's an interesting article in the IT about German estimations of Ireland regarding the economic bust, EU support and Lisbon Treaty. I would imagine it's a pretty fair assessment.

    Well spotted.

I'm dragging this back up again as I only saw the clip last night. Did everyone notice the guy with the beard disappear during the coverage ? He's standing there looking a little spaced and then just drops out of view. A few seconds later he pops straight back up again but facing away from the camera. There's a moment when he figures out what happens and shoots around to face the correct way. I couldn't stop laughing at it.
