    HI All

is there any good central location specifying what courses have got rid of JOining fees around the country, i live in tullamore and the courses near me dont seem to have dropped pricing at all, where Moate, Athlone and mount temple have got rid of a joining fee completely and reduced their annual costs. Any updates would be appreciated,

New Forest have a deal where you can join and pay weekly as well - €33

Played there yesterday and its a fantastic course since they trimmed back all the rough.

In terms of a central listing of all deals etc, this is about as good as there is... http://www.gui.ie/membership_search.asp?pid=140&area=1

The experience of many now, however, is that you can strike a deal and pay much less than what clubs initiallt advertise!

As one of many people on here looking to join a club this year, I think it would be great if members here could post their club, and entrance fees/annual fees for 2009. That GUI page is hopelessly out of date, and there doesn't seem to be any resource giving these details. So if people could post their club and the fees, that would be a huge help to myself and those like me who are looking around. Cheers.

If i were you i would pinpoint a few courses/clubs that you fancy joining and call them up. That's certainly what i'd be doing if i was looking. Rates on internet sites and forums but by all accounts courses are open to doing deals now, particularly as one third of the season is already gone.

Not sure it's much use to you in Lucan but i joined claremorris in mayo last year full 18hole course alway immaculate condition especially the greens.
    Prices for new golfers:

    year 1 €325
    year 2 €425
year 3 €525 which is the full membership rate!

when people say you can make a club an offer surely the person just can't accept your offer and that it would need to go to the members or committee to accept.

In the end of year figures if they don't match up for new members and what should be the fee I would presume there would be war
