well. im just starting out in airsoft and i want to be a airsoft sniper. ya i know all of da "try out using aeg's first and then make your way to sniping if you still want to". plus the range thing with the 1j limit. so is there any point in being an airsoft sniper in ireland? And if so is there anywhere suitable to play the role of a sniper? And yes i know its not like the movies. all about stealth, hiding and patience patience patience!!!!!!!

Just bought a JG BAR 10 by the way. didnt arrive yet after 2 weeks. Got a kjw m9 too. savage yoke indeed.:D:confused:confused::confused:

from my experience the fear factor is lost when sniping in Ireland! your best bet i'd say is to get an aeg sniper style rifle eg sl8 or a dragunov!:p

At your first skirmish don't be dishearted when you find out how sniping actualy is. Get an aeg and try before you give up

I disagree with Bernie Mac, there is definately fear to be put into the enemy when playing as a sniper. I love picking off a player and then seeing their team-mates sh*te themselves because they don't know where the shot came from. Your best weapon as a sniper is stealth. I love springer Airsoft rifles, they're so much quieter than AEGs. It gives you the upper hand. Anytime I see someone ask this same question, the 1joule limit and the fact that a springer basically fires no further than an AEG and their bolt action. But I think there are a lot more things more important than these two limiting factors. As a sniper you may hit less enemy players in a game, but each one you do get is more satisfying IMO.

to be honest, you've posted pretty much all the advice people would usually offer. You've obviously done some reading on it so its completely up to yourself what you want to do, Its not for everyone though., :)

True but the reason i got a jg bar 10 is cos of the quiteness of it. from what i read sniping is stealth. There is hope thanks for the replies.
