Ok, something I've been meaning to ask on here for quite a while.

I'm looking for cycling gear, but cycling gear with a difference. I'm looking for usual cycling gear performance - wicking, comfort, cleated shoes, all the normal stuff

BUT I want it to be "smart casual" style - good enough to wear to the pub, etc.

What's the smartest dual-purpose gear you can find online? Anyone regularly head out while wearing some sort of cycling gear?

Ultimately I'd love to be able to wear it to a business meeting, but I think that's a bit unrealistic :)

    Comments/suggestions/insults?

Rapha? Some of it could certainly pass for business casual.

Not sure where you are, but around here there is no lower bound for "good enough to wear to the pub".

"Dear" seems to be slightly understating it! :)

But yep, it does look very good.

You'll probably find shoes, a jacket or shirt that'll be fine but I doubt bib-tights or cycling shorts are going to pass the standing at the bar test in most pubs. Do they do padded jeans/trousers? Of course if you sit in a corner behind a table and get someone else to buy your round ...

I know last year I got a few Nike 3/4 trousers, I think they're either for golf or Tennis. Brilliant material, which I wore a lot on the fixie ... the stuff you can find at 53degres north.

I have just the thing. Had my eye on Royal Plus 44 cycling short for swanning around in. I think they look class and it would mean no more rolling up of jeans.

This outlier stuff looks good, US-based.

    "International Firstclass - United Kingdom (1 - 3 weeks delivery / starts at $18)"

Assume that would cover us too.

    velocouture - LOL

You wouldn't wear a Kilt would you ?

Seriously the main problems to me would be the raingear and the layers, pubs are a lot warmer than outside, unless you are are generating a lot of heat cycling.
