Midi Cubase SX3 prob

    I've slightly changed my setup and have what I'm sure is an easily solved problem but still very frustrating...

    I'm running my midi controllers into cubase via midiman and using vst synth plugins. I can load the instruments and am getting audio and all the correct midi levels and meters corresponding but when I arm and record my midi track - no data gets recorded. The hardware setup must be ok since I'm getting sound and so on. I'm nearly sure everything was working a few days ago so I tried restoring defaults. I'm using asio4all but tried the default drivers to no avail.

    I've a cheapie set of midi drums that record in no prob (usb straight into laptop)
