Brown is a colour that looks very nice on my other half, but he's having difficulty to see how to wear it.

    He has the following:

A mid-brown cord jacket (kind of like a suit jacket shape)
    A chocolate brown silk tie
A dark brown shirt (this goes well with his darker blue jeans)

Any ideas what these items could be worn with that wouldn't end up with him looking like an oul fella?

He's got a slim build with good shoulders a mini paunch, and is 5'8"

Perhaps you could combine the tie and the suit style jacket with a cream shirt?

That may look a little bit old-fashioned though!

It's hard to know without actually looking at them. Can't think of any other

colours that would go with brown though:confused:

I would imagine the brown jacket being nice with any nice top and dark jeans with brown shoes!
I love the colour turquoise with brown! Maybe you could pick up a nice turquoise, blue or green tie and put it with the brown shirt?

Men are actually really hard to dress!! :o

Yeah, I usually leave him to it but I must admit I encouraged him to buy the jacket.

Turquoise sounds like a good idea though, thanks.

    1) id put a nice hoody under the jacket..in a pale colour, white, cream bad example but you see where im goin

    2) id say a white shirt with the silk tie.. and put that jeans? cream might be harder to match shoes or runners with

    3) with the brown shirt id put these kinds of casual trousers and a pair of white runners:

you can get them in different fits.. mine are baggy and they suit everyone

    I love brown with:

pale blue (how about a pale blue shirt under the jacket?)
    light pink or mauve
light green (like a celadon or maybe sage color)

With the brown shirt, jeans are probably best. If you paired it with tan, beige or khaki color trousers it might start to look like some kind of uniform.
