Moved House, Brought SKY Box

I'm currently renting a House In Leixlip in kildare, and The previous Household has satalite tv.

now, (this is where it gets complicated)


From looking at other houses, our dish is Pointing in the same direction as theirs. the house came with a FTA satalite box, and I brought my sky box.

When I plug in the sky box. I get the message "no signal can be recieved"
I check the system on the EPG and it currently says i have about 40-50% signal and 50-60% Quality.


On the FTA box, I set it up to Autoscan, and we now have over 3000 channels (many are doubles, and some are just eastern European SEX line Ads, all day.

What i'm wondering is.


1. Will my sky box work in the new address, I dont mind the billing going to the other house
2. What satellite should I scan for the most english channels

3. if all else fails, can anyone recomend where i can get a lend of a SAT reader to make sure i get the right satelitte, and if not a lend, anyone have any suggetions on someone who can do an Install cheaply?

PS.Another factor, We have a Rather Large Tree in our Back Garden and this seems to be blocking Line of Sight with where the dish is pointed. This tree is being cut down over the weekend, So this might solve everything, or have nothing to do with it whatsoever
