Definately buy Plans, can't really go wrong with Transatlanticism either.
I'm not really a fan of the rest, 1 or 2 good songs on each album.

I really like Death Cab, but of the three albums I have, there's no standout. On Transatlanticism, Narrow Stairs and Plans there's some tracks I really love and two or three I'll always skip. That said, I think Plans flows really well as an album and has a really cool running theme of the passing of time, aging and death... Still can't bring myself to listen to tracks 6 and 7 tho. I'm messy like that.

Plans and Narrow Stairs are prob the easiest to get into. TransA is imo the best. Lyrically and musically it's wonderful.
