    Cooke 3,714.

I was thinking of putting up a poll. Just to get an idea if people on here think it's fair to have a one horse race.

Especially when you put that into the context of it being a one-horse race - people not bothering to vote for education officer coz of a "there's no point, he has the job" sorta attitude.

....fair to have a one horse race? What would be your proposal otherwise?

edit: oh, will someone inform our Uachtarain that she was unfairly elected then, by the way?

Unless the voting system has changed since when i was in trinity, Dont people Go and Vote for all 5 positions at the same time?

IE. The voter gets 5 slips of paper, and each one is for a diffrent position

    1.President
    2.Dep-President
    3.Education
    4.Welfare
    5.Ents

Now, Even tho Ashley CookeRan unopposed, I Hardly doubt people would Just completly ignore the other elections, or this one (seeing as, other then RON, she was in a 1 horse race)

I would Imagine, that All of the 5 elections would have a very simular turnout.

maybe i'm wrong. but i find it hard to believe* that people would just forget or not bother to vote for a (ashley or Ron) candidate in one election, while Voting for others.

(Please note, chances are that there might be slight differances between the differant elections, e.g President might get Very slightly higher turnout then say, welfare. But i can not see any reason for any major differance in the turnout)

Ashley Cooke is a dude !

In fact all the new officers are.

I always thought there was something queer about the SU.

Yes, but when I was at the hamilton there was plenty of ballot slips around the box that were just left there, not filled out. Nobody forces you to vote once ya pick them up, you could throw them straight into the recycling bin if you wanted to.
