Ok - before I start....regardless of my decision, my ticket will not be available for anyone else !!

A friend has a spare ticket & has offered it to me as a present, if I'm interested.

I don't really follow rugby but I reckon the atmosphere & craic will be great. I'm the sort of the person who will get engrossed into any good sporting event....but don't follow anything too closely. I don't think the person will be insulted if I say no, but then again it's abit rude to refuse. I'd be kicking myself if it turned out to be a great match.

On the other side, I know if I don't take the ticket, the person will have a queue of people who would be rugby fans, so I feel kind of bad to deprive them of the opportunity. Maybe I'm too thoughtful:P

You are very thoughtful and it does you credit. But I think you should go. You'll enjoy it!

I think you'd be mad not to go. Probably the last Irish international rugby match at Croker, playing our favourite enemy, 80,000+ screaming fans and the real possibility of a home win.

What more could you ask for.

Fair play to you for thinking of others who might want the ticket, but definitely go yourself. It would be a boring sport if the same fans went the whole time.

Thanks for that, I reckon I will take them up on it.

Guess I felt guilty as I know people who would kill for the ticket - yet the reality is they won't be the ones who get the ticket if I decline. So, Croker....here I come!!

..what he said. Enjoy the game, it was going to my first Ireland game 8 years ago now, and seeing them play in the flesh, that really got me into the sport.

There are at least five more international games there (Sth Africa & Aussie in November then Italy, Scotland and Wales in the 2010 Six Nations).

When a friend offers you a ticket for a match as important as that
you gotta go otherwise you will have alot of us on this site wanting to kill you
abd the fact that your considering it is kind of you
and you wouldnt be selfish if you were going
everyone is allowed to treat themselves once in a while
and look at it like this
if he offered you the ticket first he wants you to go
    so i say yeah
    go enjoy
