    €1250 me arse.

    What's it worth to you?

In fairness UK RRP of £700 could well convert to Irish RRP of €1,250, in fact the standard conversion formula goes roughly, multiply by 1.5 and then add 20%. (700*1.5)*1.2 = 1,260.

I wouldn't doubt the seller if he bought it in a LBS here... Still Lumens point is reasonable, you have to consider what it is worth to you vs the alternatives you might have.

Despite what the Irish "mountain" running association might have you believe, there isn't much in the way of mountains in the Phoenix Park. Why spent €650 on a mountain bike you're not going to get the use out of, when a road/hybrid bike would probably suit you better?

He could easily have paid €1250 for it in certain shops here.

You can buy a new one for £700

On the LBS topic, I have noticed that the local bike stores here have been getting better over the past few months when it comes to competitive pricing. A few months ago I'd have said online all the way, but now I think there are good deals to be had in the RoI as well if you look around.

    That's the 2006 model.

The one for sale is the 2007 model and the Kona website said they were €999. (Maybe it's more for Ireland)

Ireland doesn't get Eurozone prices, the formula is UK Price * Old Exchange Rate (~1.5) + 20%, as per my previous post :) No joke unfortunately :(

Apologies for starting a long stream of not-really-answering-the-question.

I'd pay what I'd be confident for selling it on for, which is perhaps €400.

I'd always be wary of second hand mtbs unless you know a bit about them -they suffer a lot more abuse than anything used entirely on tarmac. It's hard to tell from the pics but it looks pretty clean- maybe offer 500?
