Going to the Benicassim festival for the first time this year. Can anybody give me some advice on the venue itself ? Is it on the beach or where? It seems accom nearby is all booked out too, whats the camping like there?
    thanks

There's two campsites that are quite far apart so I can only speak for one. I was in the site closest to the venue and it was about a 20 minute walk from the beach, probably less in fact but when you're carrying beach stuff and it's 35 degrees things tend to go slowly!
The venue is a huge open space, tarmac and grass. It has a few stages, a market, great food and other types of entertainment (guitar hero tent!).
Camping for me was fine. Don't expect extreme comfort or ease. You're camping in very warm conditions. Stay hydrated, don't get sun burnt, bring ear plugs. If you wanna make the best of it bring/buy something to lie on and bring a proper pillow.
Here's a picture of where we camped, when it was still clean! The sun shades were nice, but if you arrive more than about four days after the sites open you'll have to stay in the over flow place, no sun covers!
