Ordering wedding dress from the U.S (leephilipbridals.com)

    Hi there,

I've just found out that the Pronovias dress I fallen in love with (costs 1,800 here) is only $1,100 (864 euro) if I ordered it from Leephilipbridals.com. I've done a google and haven't come across any remotely negative reviews of this company.

So would you dare order your dress from the States? Have you done it and did you have any problems? The biggest worry I have is who I'd get in Dublin to do the alterations .... what do you think? In a bridal shop, they would at least know the ins and outs of that particular style ....

Thanks for your advice! 800 euro saving is not to be sniffed at! :pac:

Can you try it on here? I would definitely do that at least.
If you try it on you can ask them casually what size do they think you'd need if you were to order? Or do some sort of detective work to see what you would need.
When I ordered my dress in the shop here she guessed at a size and then measured me up, she then referred to the dress company's size chart. I was between two sizes, and I ended up ordering the bigger size with a view to have it taken in when I get it. (Easier to take in than to let out!)

You will still have to pay customs on the dress. Probably best to go over to weddingsonline.ie to get feed back from people who have ordered from the US. They might be able to advise better than I can, and also might have suggestions for a seamstress in Dublin.
