Myself and my friend are planning on spending a long wkd in Brittany in early April. Probably fly into Brest via ryanair and rent a car. Id like to see as much of the place as possible. Any ideas as to where is worth going to? Im thinkin of spending the last day in Brest for convenience sake. I heard theres a fantastic aquarium there. Im hopin to just drive around the first two days and hope for the best but I would be grateful for any advice.

    Thanks in advance.

Brest is one of the less attractive cities in Brittany. It got hammered in the war because it was an Atlantic seaport, and it was hastily and shoddily rebuilt afterwards. The aquarium (it's a bit more than an aquarium, really) is worth a visit.

Go along the coast in either direction, and you will get great scenery, and plenty of interesting towns and cities. To the south, I like Quimper, Concarneau, Pont Aven. Overall, I prefer the north coast because it is a bit rockier and the scenery is more to my taste -- lots of attractive port towns, including Morlaix (some nice medieval stuff), Paimpol and Treguier (ditto).

Driving is easy -- good roads, and generally not too busy.

I hope you like seafood, because that is a Breton specialty. Crepes, too, preferably accompanied by a "bol" of cider.

St Malo and Mont St Michel are big attractions in Brittany, but a bit of a long haul from Brest, perhaps not worth it in a tight time frame.

Be sure to visit the menhirs at Carnac, and at least one "enclos paroissiale".

It is worth going to see the aquarium or Océanopolis as its called and you could easily spend the day there.

Presqui'ile de Crozon, or the Crozon peninsula is pretty and there are lots of little towns & picturesque villages around it which are worth seeing and only about an hour and a half or so from Brest.

Carnac is a pretty place, got some ancient standing stones, nice beach etc. Mont-Saint-Michael is an amazing place, but possibly a bit far from Brest, especially with the time constraints.
