    Hi guys,

Just wondering if any of you's in the know would be able to answer the following.

We presently have Sky+ in two rooms in the house, and are about to add a 3rd box to the package. Obviously each box has to be hooked up to to a phone line. At present, we have an eircom output box (right term???) which has two slots on it (one marked BB, the other marked phone). The BB is obviously hooked up to the broadband, whilst we have a 3 way splitter plugged into the phone one, for which the home phone itself is plugged into along with the lines for the two sky boxes.

    Does that all make sense?

We will obviously need an extra slot now with the extra Sky box. First Q. is, would an installer carry a 4 way splitter with them to a job, or will we need to get one before he comes? Secondly, there isn't any problem is there with splitting the line so many times? As installers, do you often come across jobs with mutliple subs, whereby 2,3,4...phone line extensions are needed.

Cheers in advance for any info.

    Hi charlie,

Im not an installer but i will give you the best answer i can give. It would be best and cheaper on your self to get one as i dont know if they carry them. And no there isnt any problem as we have given our engineers a lot of multiroom contracts many of which using up to 4 boxes and never had any complaints yet.

Depending on the installer he may just add a second splitter (giving one more output) or may split one of the connections from the existing sky box nad connect to the new box.
Ideally there should be no more than 4 connections on a telephone line.
