Raising Land to build

    Hi,

We are about to start raising our site before we build. We were told by the Council that we must keep a record of all loads brought on to the site. Would anyone have a sample of these record sheets or what know what should be on them?

    Thanks.

Somebody here might have something but it shouldn't be too difficult to rustle something up. Just get a diary and note the times and dates that each load arrives. Do you need to provide proof that the figures you are giving are accuarate? By this I mean it might be a good idea to get the lorry driver to sign the diary after each delivery.

I assume the Council want to know the tonnage of soil imported, the time and date it was imported, by whom (and from where).

If you get the driver to sign diary it can all be traced. I assume the Council will be more interested in where Trucks are "dumping" soil. Your figures may help confirm your suppliers records etc.

Keep it simple - date, tonnage, Haulage Contractor/ Driver signature.

might also be no harm for you to get the driver to confirm where the origin of the sub-soil/fill, when he's signing your record

If the truck drivers/transport company have a haulage permit then it is part of remit to keep exactly those records themselves, if their company are audited by the environment department and they can't produce those records then they are in trouble.

Just ask the drivers/transport company for a copy/copies of the load carry register for your site. Most drivers carry a triplicate booklet which they fill out, one page for one load, etc.

The deadline for submission of the 2008 register was the 22nd of January, I think.

Thanks for you help everyone. As RKQ wrote ill just keep it simple. My brother in law will be filling the land but would rather have our own records rather then relying on his.

    Thanks again.
