Thinking of undergoing frenuoplasty shortly..but also considering circumcision.....just worried about length of recovery time (ie before resuming relationship...)
    Any opinions?

Hi OP,if you search back a few pages you will find a pretty in depth discussion on both topics.

When you say you are considering it, is it because there is no medical need?
My circumcision was done as a child (not infant) and I was just mildly aware of a little discomfort for a few days with those dissolving stitches gone in a week.

I guess you'd be out of the saddle for a couple of weeks, but then that's the norm for half the posters here ;)

Weigh that up versus your current situation.

Got both done, there's an old thread floating about that was very helpful. They say it takes about 2 weeks to heal, I'd have waited longer personally though.

I'm 21, i got circumcised in August '08, best decision i ever made. I was really worried but the surgeon was fantastic and said he had done around 5000 of them......recovery wise there was some pain but nothing major, the worst was waking in the morning with a horn:eek: and when you stand up and it rubs off your jocks. It takes about 2 weeks before you can walk without wincing and another 2 before you're back in the saddle so to speak

If the frenuoplasty works for you then think twice about further procedures as having a fully functioning foreskin is better than none. Of course if you don't have a functioning foreskin then circumcision is certainly an option. A mate of mine had the frenuoplasty after going through about 4 doctors who were all for more radical treatments and he hasn't looked back. His story is what got me interested in this. Mainly as so many doctors were so quick with the surgery option.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

i had a tight frenulum all my life and it seriously affected me as far as the opposite sex is concerned. i had women that i could have been with but i knew it would have been PAINFUL for me so I could never go through with it. I was IN BED with several women and had to back out at the last second. It also affected my ability to actually get it up because I was so anxious. However there was no physical problem, I could masturbate 10 times a day if I wanted.

Had a girlfriend for 5 months and we never had sex. Beautiful girl mind you, absolutely gorgeous.

Had the frenuloplasty back in 06. It was a fast procedure, in and out in a few hours. Have to say, it was painful enough for the first few days afterwards but nothing major. Walking around the street like John Wayne though.

Ended up recovered after 3 weeks and tried having sex but the foreskin wouldn't retract. THIS was when I realised that I also had PHIMOSIS.

Ended up breaking up the the girlfriend after 8 months of no sex (Fair play to her I have to say). For about another year I cursed my luck and didn't go to the doctor. Got in bed with a few more women and didn't go all the way again as usual.

Then I read up on a thing called BEAUGE METHOD. Basically, it is masturbating in a different way, just basically trying to stretch your foreskin, but doing it painlessly during masturbation.

3 weeks of that every day and my foreskin was GRAND.

Now, I still think I needed the frenuloplasty at the start, because my frenulum was tight, but that beauge method was brilliant. Slow progress for the first few days but keep at it and you get FULL RETRACTION after a few weeks, no problem.

Right as rain now. Had to desensitise the top of my knob though (getting blow jobs was a bit painful). To do this, just roll back your foreskin while erect and try to keep the head exposed for a while. Then desensitise it through touching it mildly. Massage it mildly. Eventually you'll be able to roll keep your foreskin rolled back before you go to sleep and the head will become desensitised very quickly.

    to summerise...
    - find out if you REALLY need the frenuloplasty.
    - Find out if you have phimosis too.
    - google the beauge method if you do (I would recommend this anyway, maybe give it a go for a month before the frenuloplasty. YOU MIGHT NOT EVEN NEED THE FRENULOPLASTY IF YOU DO THIS!!!)
    - If you do have the frenuloplasty, don't worry about it. It is an in and out job in a few hours. As regards the pain, I'm sure you've cut your finger/arm/leg. The pain is quite similar IMO, so it's nothing you won't be used to. It is just awkward in that you can't walk around properly and have to be careful when sleeping.
    - make sure you have someone taking care of you and making sure you're ok. I didn't but kinda wish I had involved my mother.

anyway, you can read this and take your own conclusions.

heres a link to beauge method...

I would seriously recommend you really give this a go before any surgery.

Let us know how it goes.

I had phimosis a number of years ago and never got surgical help. To be honest I wasn't aware of it as a condition and in my youthful ignorance assumed all men were in the same boat! I effectively used the Beauge method but tore a delicate part of my foreskin. I'm sorry I didn't get surgery now as I have a small piece of scar tissue which opens up almost every time I have sex. It only manifests itself as a stinging sensation afterwards but its enough to cause me a lot of stress.

My ex had it done and it wasnt painful after the 1st day, except when he was aroused. But it was about 3 weeks before we had sex again, althought we did try at 2 weeks but he was to tender. He was delighted he got it done, so go for it!
