I'm heading to the south of France next month with my girlfriend. We're staying in Nice, Juan les Pins, Menton and Vilafranche. If anyone has been there have you any recommendations for eating out, bars etc? Nice one :)

There is a village near juan les pins called Valbonne. They have a little square with 3 or 4 restaurants in it. Very nice food. I cannot think of the names but i remember the nicest restaurant has green umberellas....i think ;) ... But al the food is good there.

In Nice, Ma Nolan's is a better than your average Irish pub. It's next to Marche aux Fleurs in the old town. Two doors from that is La Voglia, a buzzing and brilliant Italian restaurant. Tire Bouchon is great too if you're looking for something pricier that's in the old town too. Le Comptoir, just up from the opera house is a great choice too.

A lot of restaurants in the old town are geared towards tourists and the food tends to be terrible. Avoid most of the places on Cours Salaya for this reason.
