Our Collection Agency has been trying to collect a very old past-due debt. The Agency has not been success and now has suggested the legal route. Is there a time limit where you can take a debtor to court?

Would your collection agency not know this already?

    There's a thread on this.

6 years for a simple contract, or 6 years from the date of either:

    1. Last part payment; or
    2. Acknowledgement in writing of debts due and owing.
