Claiming back on knee surgery?

I had knee surgery in 2008 and due to my financial state, my sister paid for the consultations, mri and surgery. She has now got the receipts off me and noticed that in some cases they are made out to me. Could this be an issue if they investigate my claim? Is it possible to get the name on receipts changed after they have been issued?

    In relation to tax:
If your sister paid your expenses then it is your sister that can only claim the relief. She is fully entitled to claim for a relative if she paid the expenses. It is important to note that you cannot claim the relief. :)

My problem is that because i handed the money over each time, some of the receipts are in my name and all the others have no name on them. If the revenue decide to have a look at the receipts, my sisters name is not on them. It would be wrong for me to claim money back on my tax but i feel i'm going to find it hard to prove that my sister paid if they decide to investigate.

I wouldn't worry about it. You wont be submitting in the receipts with the claim. If they request them at a later date your name will be on them because you are the patient. At the end of the day, your sister paid the expenses and is claiming for them. I dont see it been a problem. ;)
