Mixing down from a 4 track onto computer...

Hey all, I need some help. I'm not particularly tech-savvy, so please be patient. :o

I have a Tascam four track. It's one of these:

It has red and white RCA outs on the back.

I have recorded a song and would like to transfer it to my computer. I have an Alesis interface and Cubase, and would like to 'import' the song into Cubase to add some reverb and edit out some unwanted intro/outro noise.

Am I right in thinking that all I need to do is connect the RCA outs on the Tascam to the 1/4" inputs on the Alesis using 2 separate RCA to 1/4" tip/sleeve cables?

    Many thanks.

    Pretty much.

If you find it all a bit confusing, grab a copy of Audacity (free) and google for tutorials on transferring from four track to PC. It's really very simple - just connect it properly, then hit record and do your tracks solo'd.

The left and right out will be the mix.

Thanks gentlemen, I got it sorted.

(Turns out I wasn't enabling the tracks in Cubase properly :o)
