Hi guys think i need to get my head gasket replaced and thinking of dropping it in to burbridge motors in liosban. Has anyone had any dealings with this garage if so is their work good? are their prices fair?

P.S How long should it take to replace the head gasket on a 1999 1.0l corsa?

Burbridge motors is a very good garage. its hard to put a time on a headgasket job without knowing what caused the problem in the first place ie overheating, oil leaks etc.
    all the best

i've been using them for the last 18 months or so for a variety of small and big jobs on several cars. i'd certainly recommend them, they're generally busy though so give em a ring first. 091 758909

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but from what i remember if the head gasket goes on the 1.0l 3cyl corsa its a new engine as the tolerances are so tight when machining the existing cylinder head. :o

Have heard of it being done before but i dont know what the end result was like!

Last post about needing a new engine is not true. It is possible to do a head gasket and get the head skimmed on a 1.0 corsa. I've done a few.

As to how long it takes, Opels labour time for it is 2.7Hrs but is very unrealistic so expect to be charged more.

EDIT Autodata say 4Hrs which is a bit more realistic.

barrs leaks. costs about 8 Euros takes 10 seconds to fit.should work on an older car. Used it on the bros Starlet going thousands of miles since. wasn't worth the gasket work.
