    First thought it was something to do with air traffic.

    I dunno, doesn't look like some type of artifact cause on the loop above you can see how the 'lines' space out and dissolve a little as they pass over the Irish Sea.


    I dunno though, odd looking.

    Air traffic, the high pressure allows the formations to persist.

    It could be two things - the actual contrails themselves, or the shadows of the contrails on the clouds below. More probably the latter.
