any opinions on them, i have a bought a 12 string acoustic guitar and it is great for the price and i am thinking of getting a bass now and seen a rodeo one for €95. Anyone else bought from them?

For €95 you can't expect too much. But if you are beginning the guitar, better buy something cheap like that. But then there are other options for beginners. Like the Fender packages etc.

I ain't a beginner (i play 12 string for god sake), I am just thinking of getting a bass and not sure if i would play it all that much (same as 12 string) i just want something for messing around with. I am primarily a guitarist but do like to play bass.

Sorry, my mistake, I thought you meant guitar. I also bought a cheap bass....just for rough recordings.

I've never heard of that brand and either way, I would recommend spending a few more quid on something that you know is a decent quality instrument.

You say you're not a beginner therefore you should be able to tell the difference between a good and a bad guitar. Even if it's just for messing around with personally I would prefer a decent instrument to bang away with.

I probably should have added that to my post too :). If you can at all it's a great help to try out a guitar before you buy it to get an idea of the weight or the feel of the neck etc. Mind you, the last bass I bought was an Ibanez K5. I'd never played a 5 string bass or an Ibanez bass before but I love their guitars so I trusted that they would produce a good quality bass and I was right ;)

For a cheap bass for messing around with you really cant beat a Squier imo.

You can usually find Squier cheap enough second hand. Stay away from Encore - pretty much anything else is reasonable condition should be fine.
