Black Eyes, remedy?

Over the last couple of months I've noticed black circles covering both of my eyes.

I take my make-up off every night, including using eye make-up remover and I use an eye cream called 'eyecon' from benefit which is supposed to reduce dark circles.

    Anyone got any other recommendations?

Is it a deficiency or should I just use a different sort of eye cream?

Do you drink a lot of tea/coffee? Caffeine is absolutely notorious for causing dark circles. Cut down on that if you can, make sure you're getting enough sleep and in the meantime, use a yellow-toned concealer to lighten them up.

I might drink 3 cups of tea a day but I wouldn't think that was overboard.

I've tried yellow concealer but I just can't apply it right.

I've got my cucumber to try tonight!

If been using this a while and TBH i cannot see a dramatic difference but it is slightly better - I still have to use concealer.

Heard before that Vit C and Iron suppliments help reduce black circles - probably takes months though.....

Not sure about curing them (have heard about that preperation H thing but am too squimish to try it) but Touche Eclat from Yves Saint Laurant is pretty good for covering them. I wouldn't recommend ordinary concealer because it can be too heavy for eyes and can congeal in the crease below your eye. Touche Eclat is nice and light and it is light reflecting so it is really good for circles.

 E45 is far too rich to be used under the eyes! You will end up with little whiteheads on the skin..

Cucumber slices are good, as are cold teaspoons that you keep in the freezer. But for some people it's just a genetic thing that you'll not be able to get rid of :(

I have really bad dark circles and for me it's genetic. Something about my blood being thin/weak, or something to that effect. As you can see, I don't know much about it really, so I'd check with a doctor, but I took iron supplements a while ago, which did wonders to reduce them (but didn't get rid of them :().

Vitamins will help to a certain extent if you're not taking any now, and especially if you're not a particularly healthy eater. However, some people (like me, unfortunately!) just naturally have bags under their eyes, and there's not a lot you can do about it.

To anyone using preparation-H - this is complete madness. That stuff is waaay to strong to be using on skin under your eyes, and you will regret it in 10 years time!

The circles are bluish... so if you use yellow they may appear green and jaundiced. Some top make up artists advise using a salmon coloured concealer. Hope that helps! :)m

I've naturally got blue-ish/black dark circles (not bags) under my eyes. Everyone in my family has them. Nothing wrong with any of us, it's just how the pigmet seems to settle under our eyes.

However, you could try arnica lotion. I've used it before to reduce bruising and it really really works for that so it might work for you.
