    I got UPC broadband into day signed up for 3MB. My Local Area connection speed is @ 100.0 Mbps so am I getting the correct connection I signed up for?
    Also I did not get the wireless router but I want to get my own but I need a wireless router that will also connect the UPC phone upto any help please? Thank u.

    First off you can check your speed here. Dutch UPC site but just hit "speedtest" button.
    That 100Mbps you see is not your broadband speed but the speed of your Ethernet connection(LAN),the hardware connected to the socket you've the modem plugged into on your pc. Someone else might be able to explain that a bit clearer.:o

    If you got VoIP from UPC you won't be connecting the phone to a wireless router. The phones base station stays connected to the modem and just carry handset where needed.

    If you want some descent opinions on wireless routers you might want to post a question over on the wireless forum.
    I've only used one router so couldn't really give you a good choice to go from.

    No, the modem should have at least two ports: one for a (wireless) router and the second for your VoIP phone.

    Connect the wireless router to the wire that is currently going into your computer. The phone ports are smaller.

    Thanks that is great help everyone, Any help with good cheap cable router for UPC. Will the router set itself up when connected to modem& computer?
