Does getting your hair dyed in a salon cover grey hairs for longer than doing it yourself?

No, it's all about how well the dye job is done! Your hair grows on average about half an inch every month, so whether you do it yourself or go to a salon, two months later you're still going to have an inch of grey unfortunately!

It's nothing to do with that at all, it's to do with the type of dye used. Different dyes have differing levels of grey coverage.

OP, if you're planning a home job, read the colour packaging carefully to make sure it will cover all your greys. If you go to a salon, just tell them that's want you want and they will choose a product accordingly.
