Apple service in Dublin - opinions?

I have a MacBook Pro with a faulty logic board. It's covered by AppleCare, so I'm not worried about the cost-- just wondered if anyone has any opinions about the quality/efficiency of the two Apple authorised repair centres in North Dublin: Mactivate in Blanch, and Dectek in Mulhuddart.

As my wife works in Mulhuddart, both are very convenient for me (well, her!) to drop-off/collect-- just wondering if there's any good reason to choose one over the other?

I've used Dectek for a HDD replacement and found them to be great. Friendly staff, who update you about your case and fast service. Took good care of my MBP.

You can also go directly through Apple, who will appoint one for you, but they will collect and return it to you.

How can you get them to do this? When I went through Apple they just gave me the names of the three places in Dublin and it was up to me to organise the repair.

They gave me the same but I rang up a second time and a CSR confirmed I could go through them if I wanted but that it might be "easier" for me if I went to the repairers directly. Ring them up again and ask. If it makes a difference, the first call I got through to their Indian techs who mentioned nothing about Apple doing it, but the second time I got through to an english guy who apologised and said I could do it through them if I wanted.

Good to know, I guess it's a matter of who you get onto then! I specifically rang because I wasn't in a position to use any of the three repair places because they have very specific opening hours and wouldn't do pickups from the location I was in. I got on to an Irish guy who told me there was nothing they could do.

Sorry for going off-topic OP. In the end Dektek offered to pick up my laptop even though I wasn't in their pickup range, and I was very happy with their service (not so happy with paying €20 to have it dropped back, but that was unavoidable and probably won't apply to you). They picked it up on Thursday and the following Tuesday I had my laptop back with a new case, inverter and dvd player.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds like I should have no hassle with Dectek, so I'll probably just give it to them as it'll be that bit easier for my wife to pick up/collect.
