Where do fashion conscious parents shop for dresses for 2 year old girls? My sister has been complaining that my wife and I make our daughter wear too many jeans and track suit type clothing. Thanks!

You can get dresses or skirts to wear with tights/legging with boots, anywhere, dunnes and pennys.
    Or adams.
and Next always have a nice selection of kids clothes.

You could try yellowhouse it's in Cork and does fashion for kids up to age 12. I got a pressent from someone from here and got a christening outfit for son years ago.
It's unusual stuff too and they have a website (.ie)

What I suppose I meant was perhaps more designer clothing for kids. There is a lot of decent stuff in Pennys. We shop there a lot. But just to keep my sister content I was going to splash out on something a little more special :)

When we were in Hong Kong last December one of my wifes cousins gave my daughter a rather nice dress from Nicholas & Bears where she worked as a designer. I was wondering is there any similar type store to this in Ireland?

    Where are you based?
If in Dublin, Noa Noa are just off Grafton Street, beside the Westbury mall and do lovely kids stuff. You could also try baby bambino on Clarendon street just behind the Westbury mall, does loads of designer gear for kids.
    Happy shopping!

Baby Bambino has been gone quite a while.

I'd say +1 to Noa Noa, lovely stuff. Also try TK Maxx, ya never know! I've seen baby Dior, D&G and Roberto Cavalli, as well as generally nice pretty girls' clothes.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I'm based in Dublin so I'll probably check out Noa Noa first this weekend. Thanks!

Whenever I'm buying clothes for kids (or their parents in reality) as gifts I usually rock on over to

    http://www.boden.co.uk

Monsoon have some nice gear as well

I'd agree about Monsoon. I got a beautiful dress for a 2yr old there that will be worn at a wedding this summer. Only thing is their exchange rate from sterling to euro is desperate, so if you are in the North, it's worth a look.

Apologies for going OT here, but where is the harm in that?

If your sister really wanted you to deck your little girl out, you could try down in Kildare Village designer outlet store, they have monsoon (with a kids section) there, also Polo Ralph Lauren, Petit Bateau etc. Plus you won't be breaking the bank and you'll be keeping your sister happy at the same time. :D Directions are on http://www.kildarevillage.com

Debenhams do designer baby wear (up to 4 years old) from John Rocha, Ted Baker, Matthew Williamson and Jasper Conran among others. My trendy friend just had a kid and nothing less than designer stuff would do so I stocked up on presents there. It's not half as expensive as you would think either, espeically if you get in on one of those randon days when Debenhams does 20% off everything. I went to the Blanchardstown branch but have seen it in the Galway city branch too.

No harm at all :) But my daughter is the apple of my eye and she does like pretty dresses. Plus my sister complaining has got me motivated to buy her some nice dresses!

everyone's mentioning all the designer stuff but if I get your drift, you just want pretty clothes for her?

Look in all the normal places as well, Dunnes can have some really sweet outfits as well as places like Zara, Pennys and M&S. Given how quickly kids grow I'd be inclined to not spend a fortune on clothes that they'll grow out of or destroy pretty fast.

TK Maxx is great for kids clothes though.
