How to scrap a car

What's the normal process to scrap a car?

I know someone that wants to buy it for spares to their own (mainly the wheels). I know him, and he would bring it to his own field and take what he wants from it after that I don't know. The problem I'm having with this is I want to get the motor tax back, which is possible but I don't know if it needs to be a proper ??(there's a name on them that I forget) and also, I was hoping for over €100(since it has new tires on it that cost a little over a hundred) but my father told him that I would be looking for €100.

It is a good car and is running but will cost more than it's worth to fix one thing for the NCT.

I think I would be better off scrapping it the proper way rather than selling it to the guy for a number of reasons but I actually know nothing about scrapping a car only I can get the motor tax back.

take the 100 off your mate. Your making money rather than losing money by getting it scrapped

It was taxed for the year.

And I mean scrapping it for parts(I would get money from that or at least I should). I just don't know if I'll be able to get the tax back if I give it to the guy I know, which if not will cost me more money than scrapping.

id change the car into your friends name and take the money because to scrap the car you will still have to pay 70e for a end of life certificate for it

I had a car nicked, written off and scrapped.
I filled in all the forms to claim the tax back and that's where the trail ends.
Revenue are good at giving tax back but the motor office haven't a clue. My form disappeared in their Shannon office and I get the vibe that any other forms I send in will get disappeared too. Waste of time
