    Scrap Toldo.

    Seba Rossi FTW.

3 champions leagues and he never even got an Italy cap!

george weah would be in the team

Ladislao Kubala has to make that team. 329 games for FC Barcelona, 256 goals.

    How about Duncan Edwards.

It has to be retired players. ie, players that will never play in a WC.

Jari Litmanen is a much better shout than Cantona for the number 10 role, just not Cantona's position. Also, Hyppia in defence. Another potential centre back is Alex Tobin, Australia's most capped player although he never left there for club matches

Ah, right so. I'll have to have another think

    EDIT: Southall? Schuster? Le Tissier?

    awesome shout.

would not have thought of that.

The easiest way to come up with dudes is to think of the European countries that have never gotten to the World Cup like Iceland and Finland. Gives you decent players like Jaaskelinen, Gudjohnson, herraidason etc.

Okay, having thought about it this is the best I can come up with

    Peruzzi

    Bruce--Hyppia---Montero---Torecelli

    Giles

    ----Best
    Giggs

    Litmanen

    Weah
    Di Stefano

If retirement is an issue Hyppia is dodgy in defence. If not then you have the option of Kaladze as well, If Hyppia is ineligible then Alicio Solalinde is a good option. Paraguayan player who won a bunch of Copa Libertadores and scored when Olimpia won a Intercontinental cup when it meant something. He was also a key part of one of only two Paraguayan sides that won the Copa America and won a few Argentinian leagues with River Plate

When you look who was in that French team of '98, Ginola and Cantona. Admittedly Cantona was retired but Ginola had just won the PFA and Football Writers' Player of the Year awards.

Thats the players that came to mind, I am forgetting at least one if not two. Its what I seen myself, not including the likes of Best, Edwards, Meredith, di Stefano etc.
    Neville Southall
    Nigel Spink
    Rob Jones
    Mark Lawrenson
    Sami Hypia
    Kevin Ratcliffe
    Jim Beglin
    Massimo Bonnini
    Ryan Giggs
    Steve Heighway
    Abidi Pele
    Arnold Muhren
    Liam Brady
    John Giles
    Gary Speed
    George Weah
    Jari Litmanen
    Ian Rush
    Mark Hughes
    John Toshack

    Southall
    Jones
    Lawrenson
    Hypia
    Beglin
    Bonini
    Abidi Pele
    Brady
    Giggs
    Weah
    Hughes

Spink, Ratcliffe, Giles, Speed, Muhren, Rush, Litmanen

I have to edit already, just seen some players above who shoud be in there, Cantona for definite, meh come back and decide where to put him. Abidi Pele's spot is looking dodgy.

Bonini's a great shout but Montero and Peruzzi definitely deserve a spot. 2 key elements of the great Juve team

They both made in to world cups. I thought this was about players who never got the chance to play in a World cup. Montero definitely played in the World cup as well.

Peruzzi never played in one, only made the bench. After a quick Wiki though you're right, Uruguay made it to the 2002 World Cup, forgot about that

I didn't include anyone who made it to a World cup. I could be all day at it if you Include players who made their squads but did not play, and I am definitely going to miss some great ones if thats the case. Imagine the amount of Brazillians and Argentinians for a start.
