Small Crash

    Hey,

I was reversing out of a car parking spot earlier tonight and hit a bike, bike didnt fall over, just shoved it to make an angle. I didnt know this at the time and drove on without thinking any more of it, down the road one of the passengers mentioned it, i turned back, drove by the bike to make sure there was no damage and there wasnt, then checked my own car and went on my way again.

A woman saw me hit the bike i presume, she was stopeed after i pulled out and one of the passengers said she surely saw it.

My question is if she reports it to the gardai, will anything be done about it or is something only done if the bike owner complains?! I have a guilty conscience and all that now!

    Major thanks in advance

If there was no damage then I wouldn't worry about it tbh.

Its not possible to see damage in the dark so you should have left your insurance details.

You technically left the scene of an accident.

This is a motorbike I assume. Why did you not leave a note when you returned. Do you have the reg? How would you know whether there was damage or not to the bike? Its hard to understand how you would not know you were pushing something with your car when backing out of the parking space.
I think you purposely left the scene and now you figure someone saw you do this and you are trying to think of a way to cover yourself here.
Best thing you could do now is record the accident at a garda station.

I am positive there was no damage to the bike, it was just rotated a bit.

There was no one i could tell in the area, and yes it was a motorbike! Didnt get the reg either, thats annoying me now!

I was going slow and just nudged the bike like so i didnt feel it at all! I left the scene but returned....?

This is why you should always reverse into the space :P

I dont think she will report you, these things are left unreported all the time.I wouldn't be worried about her, its the owner of the bike you should be worried about.Has to be cctv around the place for him to check and he might be a big guy!

    Here Here!

Im hoping he'll just come out and think im a little *****, check the bike, think no more of it and drive off! :D

If the woman reported it, is anything done as there is no official complaint lodged?

What if the biker reports it? What if they both report it? You will be in trouble. Leaving the scene and all that. Bikers are very very very particular about their bikes (rightly so). I can assure you if there is a tiny scratch, it will be noticed and seeing as you actual moved the bike, it will defo be noticed. I saw a guy sit on a work mates bike once. The owner came along and almost hit him for 'daring to put his leg across his bike' so imagine how mad they would get about someone pushing it with a car.

It is a pretty sh1t thing to do to just drive off. Are you the type who opens the car door into the side of another car and doesnt even realise that it IS causing damage to the other car.

Would you give me a break ..

Someone keys your car a f*cks a brick through the window ..... what do you think your chances are of finding out who did it.

    OP don't worry about it

Morally i'd pay for the damage, that guy probably loves his bike, if it was me i'd be cursing the langer that touched my bike.

Legally .. wtf.. some woman saw a guy touch off a bike ?!? .. its not hers .. its not yours ... god knows what damage was done before hand etc ..

    Forget about it.

Well if someone seen them do it then they'd have a fair chance of finding out.

Someone reversed (I'm assuming they were reversing anyway) into my front bumper in a car park on Friday...now the paint is peeling and there's an almighty scuff mark, I'm not going to worry about it though, it could be worse, they could have hit a kid or a dog. Besides....there's already a few scuffs on my bumper which I plan to get fixed when I have a bit of spare cash.

    Don't worry about it.
