I want to create a route for the Paddy Martin Randonee tomorrow with notifications of turns and such, so I don't get completely lost. I got a gpx of the route from mapmyride.com, and wanted to generate notifications of turns and so on from this. Any way of automaticly generating this ? Bikeroutetoaster doesn't seem to do it

Bikeroutetoaster did it for me before. Let me check it out.

It should be automatically done on bike route toaster by leaving "add course points at junctions" ticked

+1 on what Raam said- apart from those junction notifications you can add points manually in Garmin Training Centre.

How did the route work out? Was down in Wicklow on saturday and the route I loaded to my edge from mapmyride had turns 50-100m off in places.

Google Maps is not that accurate in places. Routes created in Mapsource will be spot-on though.

I couldn't get the turn-offs working. My ineptness, I haven't used most of the features on the edge yet

Some of the features sound great but don't have an easy reset option, especially without risking losing data.

I'm back at this again. I thought I'd stick in the Kare tour de foothills gpx from mapmyride into bikeroutetoaster and give it a go during the week.

Same as before, I export a gpx from mapmyride. Go to bikeroutetoaster and create new course. "Add Height data" is ticked as is the "Use Auto routing" and "Add Course Point at Junctions"

But when I click on the cue sheet, there's nothing. The warning for junctions and stuff ain't added. Is this possible or wha?

I've got a massive 135km gpx file that is doing the same thing for me. It doesn't appear to add in directions unless you enter it manually. I think I'm going to have to keep 2 windows open and just copy it across.

are you creating the gpx on bike route toaster or uploading it there in the hope of getting course cue points?

Check this one I just created there...

No the route creation stuff is grand, it's importing a GPX from somewhere else and getting the cue sheet/direction generated automaticly is wot I'm after.

Which doesn't seem possible from what I've seen. Which is a bit ridiculous as it would be a trivial bit of coding to do

Ah right, I've never gotten it to do that. Only thing you can do is map from scratch I guess :(
