Your thoughts folks. Not impressed tbh. A bit of a mish mash in places. The pic above is the pic in a few mags doing the rounds.
Found this on the net tho and it looks waaay better: http://www.motorauthority.com/wp-content/uploads/BMW/Z4/spy/z4_render.jpg

Yeah, that second picture looks way nicer, it's a bit of a grower the Z4 (like alot of the Bangle designs) I love the look of the Z4 coupe.

This new iteration of the Z looks very nice, it seems that BM are taking the stylish parts of the 'flame surfacing' and keeping them but returning to the aggressive front and rear look again, all they need to do is return to the driver focused dash (Audi interiors are now what BMW should look like, they are driver focused, simple and intuitive, the way the E46 and previous generations were)

They are not the same car. Check out the front end at the junction of the light clusters and the wheel arch. The angle of the lights and the seam of the bumper to the arch is different on both vehicles.

Which one is the new one?

    Does it come in Pink?

I'd say it is the first one as per link below, it has a look about it which is consistent with the current 6 series (front anyway)

The second one is not as fussy looking, reminds me of the S2000, from that picture/angle anyway.

The second one is a photoshop job & the first one possibly is too... Pay no attention to them until the actual car is announced...

Looks very nice if you ask me, i like the sort of aggressive nature of the front end.

Its a lovely car, but not that much different than the last one.

Any idea on price and power yet.

Will they put the M3 engine in it?

There is some info in the BMW site posted two above yours

    http://www.bmw.ie/ie/en/newvehicles/z4/z4/2009/allfacts/engine/technical_data.html

What I find a bit weird is the acceleration times quoted for it. If you compare the top model, the 35i with the comparible 335i E92 coupe, they both have the same engine and power figures and weight within 20kg of each other in manual form, yet the new Z4 has a 0.3s advantage 0-100km/h

It is quite heavy for a 2 seat roadster IMO, ~1500kg for the 23i and 30i and ~1600kg for the 35i, it's at least 100kg too heavy but this probably arises from the electric hardtop.

I like it a lot, it reminds me of the 507 :)

Looks similar to the old one. Somebody in bmw lacks a pair.

I think its a beautiful new design and love the hard top. I had a 3 litre Z4 before the Boxster S. I went into Joe Duffy the other day to put my name down for more info on the 35i model. CAn not wait to have a go and would seriously consider changeing.

Wait a minute. Just spotted the real photos. (looks way better in blue than brown..)
The new front end looks fantastic. Super-aggressive flared "nostril" intakes, lines across the bonnet; I like.

As a TT mk2(08) driver, I have to say the interior could do with a bit more attention. It was the reason I didnt buy a Z4(amongst others) to start with.

    Engines will be great.

they're a bit scared after the shock reaction to the new 5 series after the fairly safe traditional looks of the E39
