Ok I have heard a lot about these e-bay triggers and deceided to take the plunge and spend my €34 on a trigger and three receivers. The model is PT-04TM

Now my grief is that the metal hot shoe shorts out my pins on the SB-600 meaning that I'm gonna have to tape the feckin thing up to stop the shorting and hence misfiring. Any body else find this ?

Does the SB-600 not work on remote with your camera, i've got a D80 and it fires by remote from my on camera flash. What model do you have?
When I was buying my flash the guy in a top Dublin camera store told me only the SB-800 would fire on remote, well they both do just in case you were told the same.

Cheers Bradnailer. I bought the triggers for a couple of reasons. I wanted to be able to trigger studio flashes wirelessly, I wanted to be able to use the sb-600 (plus what ever else I buy) outside. The sb-600 and 800 work off infrared so will not work outside as the infrared is not transmitted sucessfully during daylight. Also I've got an old flash gun from my OM10 days that I wanted to use in certain situations. A recent trip to charleville proved difficult to trigger the unit (in darkness) even though its got a built-in photocell to see any other flash firing, although I have used it at home sucessfully.

So as you can see there was a number of reasons for my purchase. So to claim that it is "Tested and should be compatible with most of the flash guns such as Canon 580/430EX, Nikon SB600/800".
, and then you go and buy the Nikon version from an ebay shop is just such a p1sser.

Also just so that we're clear - I've just stuck a piece of paper with a small hole into the reciever to trigger the SB-600 flash and it does work, and with a pc adaptor for my old flash that works as well - I just shouldn't need to use the bit of paper !!
