    Hi All,

I was wondering what opinions do people have on what is the best way to sell mobile phone credit. Do people think the behind the counter option is best or a self service kiosk.

What are peoples opinions of the different companys out there offering service ie. Payzone, Postpoint as option or the kiosk providers such as Payzone, YQ, Phonecard warehouse or Omnivend?

The best way for the mobile company is to debit the money directly from the customer's credit card and do a regular auto-top-up when the balance falls below a certain level.

It depends on what side of the counter you're coming from. For me, as a retailer, it's more profitable to have the credit come from my till. My experience has been that most customers who use a machine simply buy the credit and leave. When they come to the counter they're more likely to make an impulse purchase which can easily double the profit on the transaction. Having said that, these things are fraught with problems. Idiot customers buying for their old network just after they've switched, or simply asking for the wrong credit or idiot staff giving out something the customer doesn't want all become my problem. If it's purchased at a machine, I can shrug and say "Nothing to do with me". Can't comment from a customers point of view though.

best way to sell it is making them come to a till and buy it, you can then get additional purchases and can charge the service fee to bring your margin up to the required level to make it worthwhile to sell it in the first place.

As for the suppliers which ever one 1.5% rebate via PostPoint, so I use mainly Postpoint, Payzone only will give me 1.4%.

Also Payzone are starting to charge for the rolls for the machine, PostPoint do not
