    hey all,

have a customer who comes into the shop quite a bit and i told him i'd try help him out with his monitor.

he has a LG Flatron L1510T.

he wishes to use it as a TV and he needs to get a convertor that will change from coaxial to either VGA or the red yellow white connection i forget the name of it.

now i have found a TV box thing on an american site but really just looking for a box just to attach on the cable.

    anyone any ideas?

any and all help is appreciated.

I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as coaxial to VGA, but you can get tv tuner boxes for that purpose. Though if it has a TV Tuner built in as suggested above really not sure what he's trying to do...

yes but there is no port on it for a coaxial cable there is only two VGA ports ( one male one female)

    and the tri-colour connection.

i need someting that will allow me to connect the coaxial to one of these ports.

That model has one built in, you must have the wrong model number...
Anyway, theres no convertor out there. Are you sure its coaxial or is it TV Ant

well i'm not 100% that is coaxial just from his description of it.

he has a tv point in the wall and has a cable running from it.

he showed me the cable and its a coaxial and i dont know the wall socket connection.

he was using it as a tv before but wants to use it in a different room now.

i've seen this http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=97994&doy=21m2&C=SO&U=strat15 but dont hink it'll work.

    anyone any other ideas?

Thats not what your looking for. If he's trying to watch TV on a PC monitor, youll need this
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100126

But as I said before, that model comes with an inbuilt tuner...

yeah i know it has a tuner built into it

this guy has chorus or something in his house and is looking for a lead or a convertor box os whatever to allow him to connect the monitor to the socket in the wall.

from the cable he showed me it would appear to be a coaxial cable and that is what i'm basing my description on.

You want simpler?! No can do.

Your coax is handling several channels coming in, you need a box that will let the user select which channel they want to view, and then pass this through to the TV.

VGA cannot carry mutiple signals, nor can the monitor decode such signals, so you need this seperate box to select the signal for you.

    s-video

    video (yellow)
