Do you expect Bengals to lose TJ and CJ? I cant see them draftin Crabtree when they have so many other wholes.

    1) i really think Crabtree wont make it past the Seahawks...they need a WR like the desert needs rain...id say possibly both Deion Branch and Nate Burleson could be gone so they'll take Crabtree :D

    2) The Jaguars will not take a CB with the first round pick...OT will be the main priority...and by your reckoning the best OT on the table by the time the Jags come around will be Andre Smith...although i do think Michael Oher or Jason Smith are a lot more realistic targets

    they're my 2 main differences anyways :D
Do you expect Bengals to lose TJ and CJ? I cant see them draftin Crabtree when they have so many other wholes.

well TJ is gone anyways...i personally dont think Crabtree will make it as far as the Bengals anyways

Colts don't need a DE, Mathis and Freeney had a very good season.

It's a DT they want, and failing that a RB.

    Top 10 by me:

    1. Detroit Lions - Matthew Stafford, QB
    2. St. Louis Rams - Aaron Curry, LB
    3. Kansas City Chiefs - Mark Sanchez. QB
    4. Seattle Seahawks - Michael Crabtree, WR
    5. Cleveland Browns - Malcolm Jenkins, CB
    6. Cincinnati Bengals - Andre Smith, OT
    7. Oakland Raiders - Ray Maualuga, LB
    8. Jax Jaguars - Eugene Monroe, OT
    9. Green Bay Packers - BJ Raji, DT
    10. San Francisco 49ers - Michael Oher, OT

Would anyone here be interested in doing a full first round mock draft here pick by pick? I saw one on another forum and it seemed cool.

Crabtree could drop dramtically now. They found a stress fracture in his foot sidelining him for 10 weeks and he will miss his pro day.

I wouldn't overplay how important that's gonna be so long as team doctors are pretty assured it's not gonna be long-term.

Everyone's seen what this guy can do. He's not the kind of player that the combine or pro days are necessarily going to throw up new info on.

I wouldn't pass on him if I was looking for a WR. I definitely wouldn't pass if he fell to where a team would've considered taking the next WR.

Edit: is it possible that he would withdraw from the draft? Has that ever happened before? He's not even a Junior yet right?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,341 ✭✭✭✭Chucky the tree

Once you declare for the draft I dont think you can withdraw but I am not 100% sure. Personnally I dont really want to take him because we have two bigger needs in WR and OT but if all the decent OT's are gone and Raji is gone then I wouldnt be disappointed if we still grabbed him a 7, he's going to be one hell of a player. I can see the seahawks passing on him though, but I cant see him going past the top 15 anyway.

Andre smith seems to be going a great job of ruining his stock all on his own though.

maybe Andre Smith has a deal with Jerry Jones and needs to make sure he drops that far down the board...

If he drops to 15-20 it's unlikely he'll ever make up the money he's lost over the rest of his career. He's an idiot.

I aint fussy really, Indy and Seahawks will do, but if anyones set on doin the Hawks i dont mind trading..

I reckon thers 32 on the boards isnt there?

Mind if i do the hawks? Its the only team i'd follow close enough to know whats their needs are. Although its probably quite clear to everyone that they have a lot of them!

Can't see them passing on Crabtree if he's still there but i can't help but wonder if they'll think about drafting a QB. I do believe that Hasselbeck is a top drawer QB but his injuries have seriously hampered us the past few years now. Maybe Mora is thinking about starting afresh with his own players.
Hasselbeck has been an amazing servant to the Seahawks but the organisation can be pretty ruthless of getting rid of once great players as soon as their productivity drops. Just ask Shaun Alexander.

do you think the Hawks will still risk going for Crabtree even with his stress fracture and what are bound to be bad combine results (given that hes gonna do it on the fractured foot)???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,142 ✭✭✭Karlusss

Well those aren't two separate negatives... it's not like they expect great measurables out of him despite the injury. They know he's going to have surgery, but it's all the one consideration.

Hard one to call but if surgery goes well i'd say so. We're really really lacking in the receiver position.

So when'll this draft take place? 5 mins on the clock ect?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,260 ✭✭✭jdivision

    Well I'll start I suppose

    1. The Detroit Lions with the first pick in the draft select:
University of Virginia Cavaliers left tackle Eugene Monroe. The Lions decide to build from the lines out, selecting the more polished product over the potential of Baylor's Jason Smith as they need quality and quick. The move allows last year's first round pick Cherildus to move to RT full time and will mean George Foster moves inside to guard, replacing the ineffective and unmotivated Ed Mulitato who has been released.

Next on the clock, the St Louis Rams

Ah! Wait till we have all the places filled or we'll end up getting stuck somewhere for weeks.

    Sea Devils - 49ers, Vikings
    jdivision - Lions, Cardinals
Chanandler Bong - Colts, someone else
    kev s88 - Jaguars, Chargers
Royal Seahawk - Seahawks, someone else
    karlusss - Rams, Eagles
    tallaghtoutlaws - Falcons, Panthers
    titan18 - Steelers, someone
    Lirange - Ravens, Redskins
    raddo - Miami, someone else

Bills, Patriots, Jets, Bengals, Browns, Texans, Titans, Broncos, Chiefs, Raiders, Cowboys, Giants, Bears, Packers, Saints, Buccaneers left.

Everyone who said "someone else" pick a team, and then we need six more...

And if you're scouting... be wary, Eugene Monroe could be gone off the board early... Schefter says...

I know they traded it last year didnt they. are we not doing the whole draft or just round 1?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,142 ✭✭✭Karlusss

I don't know how far we're gonna get to be honest. It's a big ask to get semi-casual forum posters to research the long snapper they want to draft.

(that was my favourite moment of last year's draft coverage - "The Seahawks draft... a long snapper?! That's nutty!")

Trades make it awkward actually. Maybe take the pick which is with the Eagles now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,641 ✭✭✭kev_s88

id say just leave it as first 2 rounds and keep all picks as they are now

how exactly does this whole thing work exactly....im a bit confused :D

What's the point of doing it, if you're going to alter the picks. That doesnt even make sense

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,142 ✭✭✭Karlusss

Not alter the picks, but the pick that would've been the Panthers' is now a second pick for the Eagles, so if we were only doing one round it makes sense that he would take that rather than someone else (me) taking two picks as the Eagles. Right?
